Adorable keys!

I have a perpetual need for cute. I love stickers, stuffed animals, pillows, keychains and kitchen gadgets, especially if they are cute. You can see my apartment key in the background there is an adorable little owl I picked up from Borders about a year ago (and the key that I hid up the owl has little pink sparkle hearts. Yeah barf, I know, but I love it.) So when I found this Shiba head key cover by Field Point from an awesome online compnay in Osaka, I jumped at it. They also had other dogs, such as Bostons and Corgis and Chihuahuas, but you know that there was only one that mattered to me. ;)

So after several emails, taking time to try and trust my rusty Japanese, and about a month to convert pay and get addresses straight, this little guy finally found itself in my mailbox. I could not be happier, either. It has upped the cuteness factor of my keychain tenfold, and it's slightly relevant, seeing it's on a spare copy of an apartment key to good friends of ours, who we refer to other friends as "the Shiba friends." (BONUS - they, TOO have a cute key!)

Also, I felt like it would be an awful waste of time and resources to only get one, so I got a whole bunch. But seeing that my husband doesn't like things on his keys (or keychains for that matter), and I only needed the one, I decided that I'd share the cuteness and offer them up!

So, right now, I'm giving away TWO (2) of these Field Point Shiba key covers! Keeping in the recent summer spirit, post a comment that tells what is a favorite aspect of summer for you and/or your dog. For example, I think Koji loves summer because that means I share my watermelon with him.

Two winners will be chosen at random 8pm central on Saturday the 19th!

That is so adorable!

Katsumi loves the summer because she can chase moths at night! And all the windows are open!

I love it because we can go on more family walks together.

My shibas enjoy early morning summer hikes. Deshi enjoys cooling off in his kiddie pool or swimming in the river. Tetsuya enjoys playing in the backyard with Deshi. They both enjoy chasing bugs.

our sheebs love summer because it means our road trip to maine to their former shiba roommate (our former foster)'s place for beach romping!

My shibas love summer because we always take a road trip from Pennsylvania to Missouri to visit my parents' farm. They get to run around like maniacs with the farm dogs and feel all big and tough. Then at night they get to come into the air conditioning and sleep on the comfy bed. It's a good life.

Kit and Betsy like going on weekend cabin trips! In fact, we're going on one this weekend. I'm told it's been raining in the area which means Kit, who is white, will be a very happy muddy mess in no time.

Bella loves the summer because the white wet stuff on the ground is gone.

I love summer because I don't have to shovel it!

Suki loves the summer because it means allergy season is over, and the weather is great for hiking in the hills. See how happy she is now?

Well, this is Hamlet's first summer so he's probably disqualified!

But so far, his favorite summer things are chasing dragonflies, drinking cold water right from the hose in the backyard and OF COURSE chilling on the cool tile in the foyer!

I'm sure 4th of July hamburgers and hot dogs will soon rank up there...!

KG loves the summer because he can roll around in the freshly cut grass, chase bugs, and bask in the warm sunshine. And I love that I can actually enjoy the dog park with him, without wearing many layers and still feeling cold!

My shibas Shadow and Tidus love summertime for all the bugs to chase (toys that move on their own?!),flowers, hotdogs, and ice cubes to eat, beaches to dig in the sand (must get back to Japan!) and swim in the cool water and of course the fact that they are nearly 5 pounds lighter after all the shiba fluff sheds off!

Bartlett loves summer because it means more trips to the dog park.

And I love it because it means I get to torment him by spraying him down with a hose when he gets all muddy and slobbered on by the other dogs.

Saki loves summer because I take her to the beach, where its ok to dig ditches and get sand all over her face! She also loves to chase the waves and then runs away right before the wicked bad water gets her!!!! Manipulating grandfather to give her hamburgers when he barbeques is also a fav of hers!!!

Taro loves the summer because it means getting up extra early to jog & staying up late to hike without having to worry about the rain! And then he loves lying on the tile until he's nice and cool again.

I like it because, after the brutal AZ days, the nights are almost always gorgeous.

Wow, what a neat give away! I'm glad I found out in time. :) Fingers crossed.

Edgar and I love summer because it means long walks to the ice cream shop. I might like them a little more, seeing as how one of us isn't allowed to have any ice cream. Usually that rule favors me!
